FiiO SP5 Active High-Fidelity Desktop Bookshelf Speakers

FiiO SP5 Powered Speakers. Bookshelf size speakers are an active design - there is a built in amp for each driver with a DSP crossover - for incredible performance from a compact housing. Flexible connections, with Pro XLR inputs, make them plug and play ready for all the most popular pro interfaces. 

RCA inputs make them plug and play ready for desktop, home DACs and music streamers. There is also a usb-c input for phones, ipads and computers, plus Bluetooth 

High Performance Design from the Inside

The SP5 uses a 5.25" woofer and 1" tweeter drivers in each speaker that took significant development time to achieve their high performance levels. The woofer uses a composite fiber material combined with a rubber surround and larger than normal 30mm long travel voice coil. The woofer can produce rich, full low frequency response while maintaining an extremely low distortion level. The XL voice coil and its powerful 1.2 Tesla magnetic field help provide powerful, lifelike dynamics and tight, responsive accuracy. (see the breakaway photo in the photos section)

The 1" tweeter is a composite silk dome working in a precisely engineered waveguide molded into the front panel. The tweeter's smooth and extended response blends expertly with the horizontal stripes in the front panel, providing improved soundstage in desktop use, nearfield or in smaller rooms, while as well as an expanded and accurate soundstage for all listening.

Oversize Power Supplies

Each SP5 speaker has an oversized internal power supply capable of outputting a clean 120 watts. These in house developed high-power switching supplies have ample power reserves to allow the amps and DAC to work at their peak performance without limitations. There is a Smart Power Saving Mode as well, for extremely low standby power consumption, making these better for long term power use.

Four Total Independent Amps. Each speaker has an amp for each driver, so left and right amps are totally separate from each other. The crossover between the tweeter and woofer is an active DSP unit, sending the signal to each amp and allowing them to work at their ideal performance, with other frequencies already filtered out. 

There is a 60 watt amp for each woofer and 20 watt amp for each tweeter, reliable, high efficiency units from renowned Texas Instruments. 

High Res USB and Bluetooth Inputs

SP5 uses a quality Qualcomm QCC5125 bluetooth chip, with AAC for iphones and apt-x, apt-x Adaptive and LDAC higher res codecs for Android and BT transmitters, all supported. USB-C input from your computer decodes up to 96kHz/24Bit files for plug and play high res music streaming from a phone or computer. 

Brilliant Tone Adjustments On Board (image above)

To match the room placement there are some awesom hardware adjustments on the rear panel of the speakers.

Treble can be adjusted -2dB / 0dB / +2dB (above 2000Hz)

Bass can be adjusted 0dB / +3dB / +6dB (below 100Hz)

Bass extension can be set from regular 60Hz to Extended 50Hz

These adjustments allow you to fine tune the speakers for their placement in the room, distance from your listening position and general sound preferences. These are easy to adjust and get exactly the way you need.

Connect to the FiiO app for more - in the app there is a 10-band Parametric EQ for more detailed adjustment, choice of bluetooth codec, adjust the volume control lighting and more. 

Built for Pro Home Studio Use

To use the SP5 as home studio monitors, connect your computer via usb or connect your interface via XLR line inputs on the SP5 and you have a potent home studio system! They are tuned to be accurate and super flat response, hitting their target of a minimum deviation across the frequency spectrum, from 65Hz way up to 20,000 Hz. Use the switches on the rear of the speaker to fine tune based on their location.

 

Built for Home Audio System Use

For home audio systems, connect to a DAC or music streamer via RCA inputs. Or connect a computer or ipad via the usb-c jack. For a turntable, connect to the preamp out or bluetooth out.

Use the remote control with the SP5 to control volume and adjust the rear switches to fine tune the speakers based on their room location.

Connect power for each speaker and the RJ45 control cable linking L - R.

For XLR inputs, connect XLR to each speaker. 

For BT, Aux & USB-C inputs, also add the single audio signal RCA connecting cable, sending audio the the L speaker.
